Writing for the first time as the new Secretary of the Club, I find that so far this season the Bank has not had much luck or success in either of the Cup Competitions or the League.
In the Roy Ashfield Shield, the Bank were knocked out in the second round by Evans & Kitchen FC. In the President's Cup, we reached the quarter finals only to be convincingly beaten by Studley FC by six goals to nil.
We are at present lying fourth in the League tables and may just be able to move a place or two higher with a little more luck and some better referees. Find of the season must be Derek Horner who has changed positions from Goalkeeper to Centre Forward and has since scored four goals. Unfortunately for Derek two goals that were scored in one match have been disallowed as the team we played have since left the league. In the same match, M Jones also had a goal disallowed, bringing his total to four. Goalscorers so far in the League and Cup are:-

With at least a dozen or so matches left it will be interesting to see who turns out as the top goalscorer for the Club.

After a promising start to the season, the Club
have had a lot of bad luck, especially in the Football League. At the start of the season there were twelve clubs but three dropped
out and only one was replaced. Because of this, the Bank have been unable to keep vital points that could have seen them reach third
position. Taking into consideration that the team consisted of players who only started playing for the Club this season, you can
see that they have done very well to end up fifth in the League.
With all the League and Cup matches taken into consideration,
the following goal scoring chart was drawn:

Five goals were lost because of the teams dropping out; the scorers would have
been, D Horner 2, A Dugdale 1, M Jones 1 and A Parr 1. This would have left the top three goal scorers on nine goals apiece with one
game left to play. If the goal scorers are this close next season, it should be very exciting following their progress.
